Spinach Puff Pastry Casserole - Awesome



Spinach  Puff Pastry  Casserole  -  Awesome

I have to say that I really enjoyed making this dish. The spinach mixed with the cheese gives it just an awesome taste to it and Popeye would be proud.

There is really nothing I can say more about this for it is so simple and easy that anyone can make it with the minimum of work,  just try it.

Recipe; 

1 package of pre-ready  puff pastry

1 Bag -  Fresh or frozen spinach
1/2 Cup - Diced onion
1 Cup - Goat cheese
1 Egg - Stirred
1/4 to 1/3 Cup - Fresh parsley
1/4 to 1/3 Cup - Fresh dill
1 Tbsp. - Olive oil
1/3 Tsp. - Nut meg
1/3  Tsp. - Sweet paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Options;
Any other type of cheese
Hot paprika

You can use fresh or frozen spinach, but remember to drain them well for too much water will make the pastry very soggy. 
Now with the fresh spinach you have to first blanch it first for a couple of minutes until the leaves go withered. 








I like goat cheese for it's texture and full flavour, but you can add really any type of cheese you like. As long as it blends in well and has a good melting point, I would go for it.  









I like to use the pre-made puff pastry for it really saves me a lot of work so I 
can concentrate more on other things. 

For this size of casserole I had to cut it up into section to fit better.  So use them and cut them according to your size of dish.    



Now my pastry dough here is the thicker type to I need to add only one layer, but if they are more of the thin type like the Greek ones, then you have to add multi layers, but keep brushing olive oil in between them.  











Depending on how much you want to use, will depend on the size of your casserole dish. Thats why I like this dish because it is very easy to make and it goes with any style and any size you want with ease.

1 -  A fast weight loss
By doing a regular jogging program for at least 2 to three times, a week combined with a diet eating program will give you the fastest weight reduction. Sushi  The Simple Way - Easy And  Fast

I  see that everyone just loves  sushi, but when it comes to making it, I hear a lot of  “I cannot make it”, it looks to complicated. Well now,  there is no more reason not to try it, for in the video below  I show you how easy it is to make without all  the fuss and   you use just  things that you have around the house  or that is easy to find.

Go ahead  and try it, really what could go wrong, you could even surprise yourself. One thing I know is that your Family and Friends will just love you for it.

Recipe;

1 Cup - Sushi rice 
1/4 Cup - White vinegar 
1/2 Tsp. - Sugar 
1/2 Tsp. - Salt 

Smoked salmon
Avocado
Cucumber 
Mayo 
Sesame seeds. 

Options; 
Sweet pepper

Combine the vinegar, sugar, and salt and sprinkle it all around the rice while folding it. At this point you should be just flipping it, not stirring because the rice is very delicate at this stage and you do not want it to go mushy. 

If you want you can fan the rice in order to help the drying stage go faster, but for me I find that I can skip this process. Make sure that you allow the rice to dry off before you work with it. 




For this recipe I used  smoked salmon for it is easy and less complicated as the raw salmon. Also not everyone is into the raw thing, this makes things a little more easy. 










At first please do not make your Sushi complicated, just use your everyday things that you find around the house instead of hunting down all the other special  ingredients.   















Make sure that you knife is sharp, also to make it easier you should  be cleaning and wetting your knife on every few cuts. 

The size of the sushi  should bite size, but then everyone is different so adapt it to suit you and your Friends.

This soup is really a winner when it comes to losing or maintaining  your weight. It’s not like your typical soup that  makes you hungry in a short while. This soup is not only nutritious but also low in calories with about only  70 calories  per  average soup bowl.  

Now when you get that deep hunger feeling in the pit of your stomach   and you want something really filling that will last for a few hours, but also  will give you the energy to last the day, this is the one of choice.  Go ahead a make a lot of this Soup  and  put them into a few  serving size containers  and freeze them, for in this way you will always have them at hand.

Recipe;

1 Med. - Zucchini 
1 Med. - Leek
2 to 3 Cloves - Garlic 
2 Tbsp. - Olive oil
1 Tbsp. - Veggie stock
100 Grams - Frozen Spinach 
2 to 2 1/2 Cups - Water

Keep on the zucchini skins for that's where a lot of the vitamins are and it increases the fiber in the soup.  









Now on the video I used a low sodium veggie stock, but you can use really any stock of your choice. 

Also if you can take the heat add some chilli powder to help increase your metabolism to help further in the fat burning process.








Go ahead and add all the spinach you want at this point, after all this is your soup. Frozen spinach or fresh, it your  soup and enjoy.

Aw !!  The classic  McDonald  fries, so good, so crispy  and  tender in the inside.  Now I know, I know that fries can be fattening and eating too much can give you some extra pounds where you do not want it.

Recipe;

Potatoes  best suitable for fries.

1/3 Cup sugar per  2 Lbs.

Salt and/or vinegar to taste.

Plenty of cooking oil.

Choose a potato that is most suitable for making fries, remember that not all potatoes will give you that crisp crunch.  Here I 'am  using what they call a "new potato" in  Canada. 

If you have a question on the potato that would be best, then ask your Supermarket Clerk to help you in finding the best one. Also look for the lager ones and with a few knots as possible.



Most potato cutters will not cut them this thin, so, try it by the old fashion way.

Go ahead and cut them by hand "Like My Momma Taught  Me", remember that "practice, makes perfect.



Make sure that you use plenty of water in order to make the potato process more effective. Please make sure that the fries are not wet before it goes into the hot oil, for it could  pop back at you.

Aww !!   The famous North American Hamburger now what could be closer to Heaven then this when it comes to comfort food. In recipe the meat will always be soft and juice. Just awesome with a side of fries.

Yeah, I know fat, calories well ?  Just  go ahead and have one and do not feel guilty for it because you can have your desired meal once in a while and still keep your diet and weight.  I have lost about  42 kilos and  I eat whatever I want twice a week and still have managed to keep my cravings under control. How ?

Recipe; 


1 Lbs. - Medium ground beef.

1/4 Cup - Bread crumbs
1/2 Tsp. - Garlic powder
1 Tsp. Maggie, HP or worcester sauce 
3 Tbsp. - Milk

1 - Sm to med. egg

Salt and pepper to taste. 

Options; 

1/2 to 1 Tbsp. - Soya sauce

I like to use a medium ground beef because it has just the right amount of fat content to give it a nice round beefy taste. Make it the way you like for in this recipe even if you use a leaner meat it still will be moist and awesome.









Remember that the hamburger patty will shrink depending on the amount of fat in the beef.  Here I made the patty about 1/2 an inch larger then my bun, and it turned out to fit perfect.








Fry or BBQ your hamburger  until it is done about half way up the patty and then flip it over. Do not keep on flipping it more than necessary for it will tend to dry it out and then it will be tough and dry tasting.









Now go ahead and add your favorite toppings and make it your way.











Go ahead and enjoy for life is to short, bet yeah can not eat just one....:)

Old   Fashion  Beef Stew - One Pot Dish


This old fashion beef stew is one of my favorites,  a great  Family pleaser,  really filling and satisfying .  Some like to make the sauce a little more  watery and that’s all good, but I think that a stew should be hearty and thick so it can stick to your ribs, a working man’s soup.  Really anyway you make it, I know it will turn out awesome..  

So easy to make, all in one pot. Try it in a slow cooker  and  just set it and forget it, it wouldn't  it great to come home on a winters day to this awesome stew. Your Family will all love it.

Recipe 

1 Lbs. - Beef.

4 Med. - Potatoes
1 Cup - Celery
1 Med. - Onion
2 Med. - Carrots
3 Tsp. - All purpose flour
1 to 1 1/2  cube - Beef stock
1 Cup - Tomato juice
1 Tsp. - Tomato paste
2 - Bay leaves

 Salt and pepper to taste

Options;
 1/2 Cup - Tomato sauce instead of juice

You can really use any kind of meat from a top grade to a lower budget cut. Now here I was using medium grade beef sirloin filets because I like the faster cooking time of the stew and  I also like to have the beef cut in smaller pieces. Anyway you dice it I am sure that it will turn out just great.







Make sure that you coat and brown the beef on all sides so it can have all the juices locked in and not diluted in the stew. Also I would  not remove the beef from the pot because all that extra flour will help make your stew more thick. I would also do this if I was going to use a slow cooker, because just throwing the meat in makes it too soggy and mushy and that for me would not make me happy.





If you use a low budget cut of beef, then after the browning process I would  let the beef simmer for about  20 mins more or to the point that the beef is a bit more softer before you add the vegetables. In this way the beef will be soft and the veggies will not be overcooked or too soft.







To get a more thick and hearty stew I used a a starchy potato and gave it a few more minutes of cooking time to get that thick creamy liquid. If you want it more watery than I would advise you use a more firm potato (french fry type)  and stop the cooking right up to the point of your fork penetrating into the potato.  Either Way it will be out of this world.

Best Double Decker Clubhouse Sandwich

Now what could be better than a American Classic Double Clubhouse Sandwich. The crisp lettuce, toast combined with the crispy bacon and all comes together in an awesome taste. I just love this sandwich because it is so easy and fast to make, just add fries and wow a meal fit for a King.

Recipe....

Bread for toast North American type.

- Crispy bacon.
- Mayonnaise (fat free or Reg.)
- Iceberg lettuce
- Lg. tomato

Salt and pepper to taste.

Here I was using what I call a North American toasting bread. This bread is more square than the normal bread and is easier to work with. Now you really can use any type, but I kept it as close to the original  Clubhouse as possible. 









I like turkey on my Club but you can really use any type of cold-cuts you like. Try it with chicken it is just   as  good.  I  added  only  two   slices,  so you
can add as much as you want with different combination. 









Add lots of bacon if you want, now  if you are counting calories  just use  turkey bacon and/or a  low calorie Mayo. Anyway you have it, it will turn out awesome.  








In the traditional way you are suppose to cut them up into fours poked with  frilled toothpicks and have the triangles pointed up side by side on the plate with fries on the side. As for me this is the way I like it, right down the middle and that makes me happy.
